April, May, June....

You know it is funny how quickly the summer is getting here and how quickly things change.

A few years ago I started prepping 'tounge in cheek' as I didn't really expect things to deteriorate like this--I was actually more concerned with a solar flare....and now, suddenly, I'm hearing there is no more rice at Costco? Airlines are cancelling flights? Gold hovering near $1K an ounce.

Summer: what will July, August, and September bring? Predictions?

there seems to be a lot in the news about food shortages

J6P - "but that only happens in those 3rd world countries over there"

J6P is wondering why money isn't going as far as it used to. Basically Joe is still an idiot. This time next year if basic food staples have gone up an additional 70+% Joe will be screaming for the welfare statists to jump in. We wil be social engineered to death.

Ah, the "Coronal Mass Expulsion" years. They seem like such an innocent time now.

No, it's just that the dollar is going down 20 cents a week. Remember there is no inflation.

Re: April, May, June....

I just went to a walbuam yesterday.......I really dont go that much as the lady handles most of the shopping .... I had a serious craving for breakfast cereal so I decide to pick up a few boxes...

when I got to isle I was litteraly slacked jawed.... ALL THE BOXES ARE VISIBLY SMALLER Stevie wonder could see it the best way I could relate it to is if you where going a buy a tube of SAE's and when you picked it up ....you found out if 3 ounces were missing but they were still chargin you for 20!!

yeah...... that is the type of shock I had when I saw those boxes.

Then to add to sweetness of it all ...when I go the checkout since I only had a few items I now see the all the "express" lanes are self checkout ...where I have to bag and payfor it myself the "casheir" only shows up if you have a problem with the machine!

after I "pay" for my goods I was walking to my car....I reached in my pocket and pulled out a peace dollar and said to myself ...THANK YOU GOD THAT I OWN SILVER .....AND THANK YOU I UNDERSTAND WHAT THE INFLATION IS.
I squeezed that dollar extra tight and went on my way ...

what is my point ?? Nothing really just count yourself fortunate that you are on the forum .........and you know these things.

Those lanes are a blessing when stocking up. How else can you buy a superpail worth of beans at the grocery store without getting funny looks? :D
